Terms & Conditions
Before you can book an adventure with us, you must read and agree to our terms and conditions. Our trips range from easy evening tours to expeditions for several days and therefore different conditions may apply.
Booking, Enquiry and Payment
You can book a trip by sending an e-mail to email@example.com or by using the contact form on our locations page. You can send an enquiry using the same e-mail address, for any enquiry you may have.
If you are interested in a tailor-made tour you can send us a request by pressing the enquiry-button on the relevant product pages, or - as always - send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. You may also send us an sms or call us on the telephone number listed at the bottom of this page.
We usually reply to your enquiries within a few hours, sometimes within minutes. It depends on whether or not we are out there in the wild.
Be aware that your participation in a tour will only be reserved after a down payment is paid. Sending us an enquiry will not secure a seat on your preferred trip or date.
Oslo Outdoor charges 25 % of the product price as a down payment. The remaining amount shall be paid no less than 21 days prior to departure. If the remaining amount is not paid within 21 days prior to departure Oslo Outdoor reserves the right to cancel your seat. If a customer books a tour within 21 days till departure, the customer will first pay the down payment through bank transfer as described on this website (bank details at the bottom of the page) and receive a notification of the remaining amount during a week after the down payment is paid. After you have booked and paid a down payment you will receive a booking confirmation by e-mail with booking details and receipt. If a customer books a tour with less than 21 days until departure, the total cost of the tour should be paid at the time of booking.
Detailed itinerary, equipment list and travel details will be dispatched by email well before departure. For day-tours, evening-tours and any tours lasting less than one day, customers will receive an email with all necessary information at the latest one week prior to departure. For expeditions and any tours lasting for two days or longer, customers will receive an e-mail with all necessary information at the latest two weeks prior to departrure.
We have different conditions for our tailor made tours. When booking a tailor made tour, the down payment shall be paid no later than 6 weeks prior to departure and the remaining sum shall be paid no less than 4 weeks prior to departure due to the complexity of logistics. If a customer books a tailor made tour with less than 4 weeks until departure, the total cost of the tour shall be paid at the time of booking.

Oslo Outdoor’s Cancellation
Oslo Outdoor reserves the right to cancel a trip due to extreme weather conditions, if a guide suddenly becomes ill and we have no one adequately qualified to replace the guide or if there are too few participants. Information on the minimum number of participants can be found on each product’s webpage. Oslo Outdoor is obliged to inform all customers as soon as possible in case of cancellations.
If Oslo Outdoor cancels due to any of the abovementioned reasons, the customers will receive a full refund of the paid amount (down payment or product price). Oslo Outdoor will not refund cost for products that is not the responsibility of Oslo Outdoor i.e. any costs not directly related to the product. That includes but are not limited to costs related to flight tickets, hotel accommodation, insurance or personal equipment not included in the product/tour itself.
If something occurs that prevents you from travelling on a booked trip, we will do our utmost to assist you in rebooking the tour to another date or adventure if possible without any extra charge. There may be an additional fee if the alternative trip has a higher fee or a refund if the selected trip has a lower fee. If it is impossible to find a new date and a trip is cancelled by the customer, we will charge the customer after the following terms:
- When cancelling 30 days or more before departure the deposit will be repaid in full.
- Cancelling from 30 days to 21 days prior to departure, Oslo Outdoor serves the right to keep the down payment (25 % of the total product price).
- Upon cancelling within 20 days to 10 days before departure Oslo Outdoor serves the right to charge you for 50 % of the product price.
- If cancelling 10 days or less before departure Oslo Outdoor will charge you for 100 % of the product price.
This sum is to cover the costs of all the logistics and preparations we already have done in advance of a trip, in which many will be a direct and non-refundable cost for us. Despite these terms and conditions, we aim to reach agreeable terms wherever possible.
If a customer decides to cancel a trip Oslo Outdoor shall be informed as soon as possible. The cancellation shall be delivered in written form, preferably through e-mail to email@example.com. Cancellation date is the date Oslo Outdoor has received the cancellation.
In case of emergencies, natural disaster, war, political disturbances and the like beyond our control (Force Majeure), which leaves us with no other option than to cancel or alter a tour, Oslo Outdoor is not obligated to refund any deposit or costs which may have incurred on the customer. A proper travel insurance will normally cover such costs. However, in the unlikely event of a Force Majeure situation we will ensure the best service and security as we possibly can, for example by re-booking the tour to another date.
Limitation of Liabilities
Oslo Outdoor, or anyone representing Oslo Outdoor, is not responsible for any delays, inconveniences, accidents, injuries, cancellations or expenses of any kind resulting entirely, or in part, from the negligence of others, the customer or from causes beyond our control. By agreeing to our terms and conditions, participants assume all risks of personal injury and aggravation of any medical condition related in any way to the activities of the tour. Baggage and other personal properties are solely the responsibility of the owner and we are not liable for any loss incurred on the customer. We advise our customers to carefully read through their insurance policy to check the coverage before going on any tour.
Customer’s Special Requests
Any Special requirements must be informed to Oslo Outdoor at the time of booking. Oslo Outdoor will try to accommodate special requirements where possible. Special requirements also includes allergies of any kind as well as dietary restrictions and special medical conditions.
We strongly recommend that you have a travel insurance that covers not only the travel but also cancellation, sickness/medical conditions, lost/stolen luggage and personal items and in case of Force Majeure. Make sure that the travel insurance covers all the activities you plan to do while away.
When you book a trip you will be required to give out some personal data. This may vary depending on what trip you are booking, but we always ask for your name, phone number and email address.
We gather data that is relevant for us to ensure you get the best service and security on our tours. This includes age, gender, and health condition where relevant, your email address and phone number for additional contact, your country of origin and current residence. Additional info such as shoe size, height, weight, allergies, physical and health condition etc. may also be required for some of our tours and expeditions. Information such as shoe size, height and weight can sometimes be necessary when it comes to equipment provided by us to the customer; paddles, life jackets, sleeping bags, hiking boots, etc.
Oslo Outdoor will never give out any personal data to any third party and will solely use the information for our own use. When the tour is over all personal data will be deleted from Oslo Outdoor's systems, except name and e-mail address that we would like to keep in order to send out newsletters, photos, etc. in the aftermath of the tour. Upon request from the customer we also delete name and e-mail address from our lists.
Films and Photos
Oslo Outdoor reserves the rights to advertise our tours on the internet and on social media. This will often include photographs and films with participants. If any participant does not wish to be shown on film or photos from our trips, please inform us before departure.
Changes to our website
Oslo Outdoor reserves the right to change website material at any time, including our terms and conditions. When you receive a booking confirmation from Oslo Outdoor it will include the terms and conditions in a pdf-file. It is these terms and conditions, to which you have agreed when paying the down payment, that applies to your trip and any changes made to our terms and conditions after you have received a booking confirmation will not affect you in any way.
This contract is governed by Norwegian law, by agreeing to our terms and conditions the customer agrees that any legal dispute or claim shall be tried under Norwegian law.
If, by any means, a customer feels there is a reason to file a complaint or resulting in a dispute, Oslo Outdoor shall be notified as soon as possible. The customer shall inform the guide, if this happens during a tour, about the complaint which is forwarded to Oslo Outdoor and confirmed in writing by us to the customer’s email address. Oslo Outdoor will always attempt to resolve any dispute or complaint on the spot. If a complaint arises after a tour has been concluded, Oslo Outdoor must receive the complaint in written form no later than two weeks after the end date of the tour.
Leave no trace, and treat nature nice!
Oslo Outdoor is committed to preserve a sustainable environment and to ensure that also future generations will be able to enjoy outdoor life in wild nature. On all our tours we do our utmost to leave no traces and avoid all kind of unnecessary damage to nature. We expect that all our customers follow these principles.
